To provide its services, Companion collects information in a few ways:

A. Information You Provide Directly:

  • Account Information: When you join our Beta Program, we collect your email address and name to create your account, communicate with you, and provide support.
  • User Content: This includes any text, images, or other data you input into Companion. This information is used to build your "Deep Memory," enabling Companion to remember context and provide a personalized experience.

B. Information Collected with Your Permission (Device Permissions):

Certain features require access to your device's data. We will always ask for your explicit permission before collecting this information.

  • Camera and Microphone: For features like Vision Mode and voice commands. This data is processed in real-time to provide the feature and is not permanently stored.
  • Precise Location: To provide context-aware features like weather forecasts and location-based reminders.
  • Other Device Data: We may request access to data like call logs or Bluetooth state to enable specific proactive features. We will clearly explain the purpose of each request.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • To Provide and Personalize the Service: To operate Companion's core features, remember your context, and offer a proactive, personalized experience.
  • To Improve the Service: During the Beta Program, we analyze anonymized usage patterns to identify bugs, improve features, and enhance the user experience.
  • To Communicate with You: To send you important updates about the Service, respond to your support requests, and share information about the Beta Program.

4. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal data. We only share information with trusted third-party service providers who are essential for us to operate the Service. These partners are bound by strict confidentiality and data protection agreements.

  • Cloud Infrastructure: We use secure cloud providers like Google Cloud Platform for data hosting, storage, and authentication.
  • Third-Party AI Model Providers: To power Companion's intelligence, we send relevant, anonymized data to specialized AI services for tasks like speech-to-text, image analysis, and response generation.
  • On-Device Services: For features like wakeword detection (powered by services like Picovoice), data is processed locally on your device and does not leave it.

5. Data Security

We take the security of your data seriously. We implement industry-standard technical and organizational measures, including encryption of data in transit and at rest, to protect your information from unauthorized access, alteration, or disclosure.

6. Your Rights and Choices (GDPR)

As we are based in Italy, you have rights over your personal data under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). These include:

  • Right to Access: You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Right to Rectification: You can request to correct any inaccurate information.
  • Right to Erasure (Right to be Forgotten): You can request the complete and permanent deletion of your account and all associated data.
